摘要
The first step towards making the world of machines move towards intelligence was to impart senses to them. As a result an era of sensors flourished which acquired data necessary for independent intelligent systems that processed them. The idea to connect all things that can probably be connected to internet was suggested and the Internet of Things was born. Hence now these senses or sensors are being connected to internet to deliver data to any system that requires them. With the advent of Internet of Things the concept of autonomous systems got popular. Now almost all countries are trying to turn their cities into autonomous cities and hence the ideas of smart cities are flourishing. Any city to become smart and autonomous the sub-systems within the city should be intelligent enough to communicate and work synchronously with each other. Architecture of an IoT based middleware for smart city is proposed in this paper which will act as a communication layer between the heterogeneous systems in the city, giving the authorities control over the infrastructure and data. This architecture will help the authorities operate more efficiently in a vendor agnostic environment and will motivate them to implement innovative business models which will lead to autonomous self-driven cities.
