The 2008-2009 ASHRAE Research Report provided significant information regarding the main goals of the ASHRAE research program. It was revealed that ASHRAE initiated 15 new research projects and completed 22 projects during fiscal year 2008-2009 under the leadership of the Research Administration Committee. The average cost of new projects undertaken and completed during the period was around $130,000. The report also informed that thirty-three technical papers based on research projects were presented at Society meetings during 2008. Any research effort that encouraged advancements in arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, or the allied arts and sciences was eligible for funding. The report also informed that the Board of Directors had approved $2,925,000 for research projects and grants-in-aid for fiscal year 2009-2010.
