Dynamic Impact Among Industry Energy Consumption, Economics and CO2 Emission in China

摘要
This paper examines the dynamic effect between economics, energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the industrial sector for China using time-series data during 1994 to 2012. Applying a multivariate model of economics, industrial sector energy consumption, carbon emissions and structural change in the economy, the empirical evidence confirmed that there is a long-run relationship between the variables. The finding indicate that the annual data used in the study don't seem to strongly validate the existence of EKC hypothesis, because coefficient of GDP(2) is not statistically different from zero. The results of Granger Causality test based on VECM shows that CO2 emission Granger-cause economics and energy consumption, economics Granger-causes energy consumption, and structural change Granger-cause energy consumption in the industrial sector.
