摘要
Wind power plants have technical and operating characteristics that significantly differ from other types of power plants, such as the power available at each moment and wind power installed, the technical performance of wind farms in the event of system disturbances, the volatility and the unpredictability of wind power production. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the specific problems raised by the installation of wind farms and identify the necessary measures to solve them before connecting a significant volume of wind power energy. One of the main requirements to be met by wind farms is fault ride through. The present paper aims to study the impact of the grid faults on the wind turbines at the connection point and on their generators and is presented as a teaching tool that can be useful for students in renewable power system applications.
