摘要
This paper summarizes experiments conducted, using a fully instrumented home, aimed at reducing power consumption through intelligent management of power consuming devices within the home The home used in the experiment was constructed specifically for this purpose and was actually located within a larger laboratory environment. Control hardware and software was developed along with a GUI interface to display the current status of devices within the home A rule-based expert system was developed that reactively controlled devices within the home based on the activities of the occupants. The power savings realized were significant.
