摘要
Between June to November 1995, one hundred camels located in northern and eastern parts of Jordan were examined for gastrointestinal parasites. Faecal samples were subjected to direct method examination, floatation method and sedimentation method. Ega output was quantified by means of the McMaster technique. Results indicated that 98% of the camels were found carrying gastrointestinal helminths. Nine types of parasites were diagnosed. Trichostrongylus probolurus, Camelostrongylus mentulatus and Cooperia onchophora were the most common. Fasciola hepatica was recorded for the first time in jordanian camels. Also, mixed infestation with two and even three parasites was very common and represented 51% of the samples examined.
