Robustness of a tracking algorithm for roads extraction in peri-urban areas

In previous works, an almost automatic and reliable algorithm for roads extraction in peri-urban areas has been proposed and studied with submetric X-band airborne SAR images. The main idea of this paper is to anticipate performances and limitations of this proposed tracking algorithm when it will be used with future high resolution civil spatial SAR sensors. In this article, we propose a methodology of robustness analysis for scene interpretation in high resolution SAR imagery and we have applied it in the particular case of noise equivalent radar cross-section degradation.
