General pediatric palliative care should be part of comprehensive practice for those dealing with pediatric patients who have chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Knowing how to treat, communicate, and facilitate care among providers, patients, and families is paramount for good comprehensive care. Knowing when to call in the palliative care specialist assures delivery of higher-level care when it is needed. © 2020 Elsevier Inc.
