摘要
According to the ISO Survey of Certifications report, prepared by the International Organization of Standardization-ISO-in December 2009 there were issued 1.064.785 of ISO certificates 9001:2000/2008 in 178 countries and economies, reflecting this way the huge importance that the world wide organizations offer to certifications according to the ISO 9000 family standards. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the evolution of implementation and certification of a quality management system corresponding to the ISO 9001 standard, because this step can be considered the foundation on which the organizations can build a lasting performance. The present paper has its roots in an analysis of documents and reports elaborated by the International Organization of Standardization-ISO-but also by the specialized literature, that also fallows the emphasize of the benefits that come from the implementation of an ISO 9000 quality management system. The prepared study emphasizes that the advantages of implementing such a system are debatable, but on the other hand the result was that the certification of the quality management system concordance with the mentioned records doesn't automatically lead to the improvement of an organization's performance.
