摘要
Flow through porous media occurs in various engineering applications such as heat exchangers, cooling of gas turbine. Therefore, the heat transfer phenomenon through the porous medium is also interesting for many engineering applications. In this paper, a two-dimensional laminar flow around and through a porous square cylinder is studied numerically. The transfers in the channel and the porous medium are respectively described by the classic equations of forced convection and the Darcy-Brinkman-Forcheimer model. After the code validation, we have studied the effects of the Darcy and Reynolds numbers on several hydrodynamics parameters such as wake structure and streamlines. (C) 2017 The Authors.
