摘要
A simple approach to generate two bands of higher frequency tunable microwave signal is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In this scheme, the single frequency Brillouin ring laser with a temperature controller is used. Two bands of tunable microwave signal from 10.77 to 11.098 GHz and 21.525 to 22.114 GHz can be obtained through adjusting the temperature of the fiber, pump wavelength and loss of the variable optical attenuator (VOA). Experimental results show that the generated microwave signal exhibits high stability on frequency. The tunable frequency range can be further expanded by using a temperature controller with a wider adjustment range. (c) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
