摘要
This paper introduces data collected by the Indian Society for Earthquake Engineering Research (ISEER), Guwahati, on the practice of seismic retrofitting by fluid viscous dampers of existing reinforced concrete buildings in the north-eastern states of India. The major objective of the project was to analyse the data and verify the usefulness of fluid viscous dampers in structures against seismic loads. Quantification of the influence of the viscous and elastic stiffness properties of dampers during the inelastic response of reinforced concrete buildings was aimed at the seismic performance of 80% of practices was computed based on the 'criterion on the evaluation of seismic safety of existing reinforced concrete buildings' by the Indian Building Disaster Preventive Association. The effects of seismic performance before and after retrofit are also discussed.
