摘要
In premenopausal status, the endometrium and ovaries may exhibit cyclic changes that may be associated with a variable physiological FDG metabolism in these organs. It is then recommended to perform FDG PET preferably after menstruation to overcome all physiological FDG patterns. To detect some nonmalignant FDG uptake in ovaries and uterus, it is necessary to obtain the patient's history regarding the use of drugs. For postmenopausal patients, FDG hyper-metabolism in the uterus or ovaries must be considered as doubtful and lead to further investigations because the differentiation benign/malignant is uncertain.
