摘要
Pt and Rh were deposited from H2PtCl6 + RhCl3 in 1M HCl on an Au wire in layers 0.3-0.8 mu m thick according to soln. compn. and polarization potential. The actual-to-geometrical surface area ratio was 50-200. The 35% surface Pt alloy was best to oxidize MeOH, as well as CO2 adsorbtion products. Stripping and cyclic voltammograms and the values of the no. of electrons required to oxidize the adsorbate from a single adsorption site showed the MeOH and the CO2 adsorbtion products to be different and not identical as usually reported.
