摘要
This paper presents a novel control method that enables operation of Modular Multilevel Converters under non sinusoidal AC supply conditions based on frequency domain decomposition of supply voltages. The proposed control method enables to inject or draw near sinusoidal grid currents even during the presence of harmonic distortions in the supply voltages without the use of additional hardware filters. The paper also presents a modified feedback approach for circulating current suppressing controller which minimizes circulating current while maintaining sub-module capacitor voltage dc level to the desired value and also minimizes dc bus current ripples. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control structure under supply harmonic distortions.
