Using Rational Unified Process in Indoor Navigation application for Android Smart Phones

摘要
Navigation is a field of study that focuses on the process of monitoring and controlling the movement of a craft, vehicle and human from one place to another. Obtaining user coordination from multiple signals from satellites using global positioning system (GPS), where human visualize routes get from one place to another. There are several commercial systems on the market, but there is no standard for an Indoor Positioning System (IPS) that includes a navigation inside a building. The project purpose is to develop a software that will help user to navigate indoor by using their mobile device in accordance to the research and findings to be basically for android based mobile system. By analysing quantitative data, and using Rational Unified Process (RUP) the project could develop the software application for "Android" smart phone. Findings shows that, indoor navigations in unfamiliar and complex building which often does bring problem for user in finding their destination, our application could provide a solution for user to find their way indoor easily where standard navigation do not work. Thus, it is important to pursue this project as it provide one of plausible solution for user to navigate themselves indoor.
