摘要
Consumer's needs are too diversified to be fit individually, product customization service become more and more necessary driven by the customer-oriented market. This paper's research aims at a web-enabled solution for product customization, namely, Collaborative Product Customization (CPC), is proposed in this paper. Taking advantage of the Application Service Peovider (ASP) and Webservice technologies, CPC involves collaborative product strategy, collaborative product design, collaborative product fabrication and various relationships among the steps in product customization. Therefore, CPC will effectively provide customizing service in product lifecycle, which is significant to reach the goal of the customers' satisfaction. With the CPC based on ASP, an interactive visualizing environment and collaborative design process and presentation of predicted results can be accurately carried out by designers and ultimate users. By applying an approach such as CPC, the amount of time spends on developing the product models can be cut considerably. Practical use has proven that the communication and visualization tools of the platform can help designers to meet the product end users' need.
