Initial Exploration on Present Situation of College English Teaching and Reform Measures

With the development of science and technology and the acceleration of the integration process of the world economy, English has become the necessary means and tools of the political, economic, and cultural exchanges, people has paid more and more attention to English learning. College English teaching as an important means of mastering English knowledge and an important course of introducing excellent western culture is received more and more attention by the universities. This article introduces the present situation and the teaching methods in college English teaching. The author puts forward some reforming methods and the countermeasures that we should adopt in order to improve college English teaching.
