摘要
Thermodynamic study is used to analyse the phenomena occurring in the reforming reaction of methanol using different type of catalyst. These phenomena can be observed through the generation of heat and energy within the process. The values obtained from the measurement were used to analyse the selectivity and the reactivity of the catalyst. Furthermore, thermodynamic properties are important to identify whether the reaction is endothermic or exothermic. The results show that all catalysts tested are in exothermic reaction which can be explained by the negative value of enthalpy. Having the highest value of enthalpy, catalyst E emerged to be the best candidate among the 10 catalysts tested.
