摘要
Digital human modelling is becoming increasingly important in the early stages of the design process for several reasons including the need to investigate human-product interactions. However, the main focus of research so far has been on able-bodied human beings in order to assess their abilities to interact with different products. There is still a lack of research for modelling the abilities of disabled and elderly people. This paper presents an approach to modelling human movement based on the use of a constraint modelling environment. Constraints are applied to specify the motion requirements and also the limits of potential joint movement. The latter will allow the approach to be used to model and investigate the effects of physical impairments. The approach is demonstrated with a case study based on the domestic task of ironing.
