J. G. Fichte and his vision of future politics

This reflection on Fichte's vision of future politics attempts, by way of drawing attention to the wider context of the assumptions of Fichte's political thinking, to demonstrate the contradictory character of the concept of a closed trading state. In the course of this discussion problems are revealed that stem from insufficiently worked out issues which result from the splitting of human endeavour in the normative ideal of the possibilities of understanding social reality. The theme of impatience, noticed in Fichte's reformational endeavour may, however, be made topical in view of the tension accompanying the contemporary situation.
