Chemical effects in Cr containing samples measured by the K-beta/K-alpha intensity ratio and the K-beta energy shift

摘要
The intensity ratio of Cr K-beta/K-alpha has been measured for various compounds with Cr of different valencies, bombarding thick crystalline samples with 2.5 MeV protons and using a Si(Li) detector. A systematic increase of this ratio with the valency of Cr is observed. It is discussed to which extent the results of this intensity ratio are reproducible or could be affected by attenuation in the sample. A correlated shift to higher mean energy of the K-beta line is also observed.
