Luxury hotels in Spain during the first third of the 20th century

The Spanish hotel industry during the first third of the 20th century was characterised by great diversity. Within this array, hotels dedicated to satisfying the needs of the most demanding and wealthy tourists prove particularly interesting. This paper will concentrate on luxury and urban establishments. The aim is to trace the evolution of this sector over these three decades by analysing how different Spanish cities improved their offerings in order to keep up with developments in the luxury- hotel business in other European countries.
