Synthesis and characterization of new green phosphor for white LED

摘要
A new host material doped with rare-earth element, (Ba,Eu)(3)Si6O12N2, was synthesized under a reducing atmosphere. The crystal structure of the host lattice belonging to space group P 3 was successfully determined by a new protocol combining X-ray powder diffraction analysis with first-principles calculation. It has been clarified that the compound has potential as an efficient green phosphor with high color purity for white LED, owing to its much smaller thermal quenching than (Ba,Sr,Eu)(2)SiO4.
