摘要
Auralization systems that implement the radiation pattern of acoustic sources may benefit from the spatial information of the sound that is radiated from the source. However, in such applications, the acoustic center of the source from which the sound is radiated, should first be defined. Previously studied source centering algorithms use either signal post processing methods applied to measurements using a spherical microphone array or analytic methods. This work presents an analytic calculation of the acoustic center of a circular pipe with an open termination in the form of a radiating circular baffled piston. This structure can be used to approximate a radiation pattern of brass musical instruments. The effective length of the pipe is calculated and compared to the acoustic center that is calculated using a signal processing method.
