摘要
Geosynthetics are used as reinforcement in soils to provide improved bearing capacity and reduced settlement for structural footings or pavement systems. Among various geosynthetics, geogrid is preferable for pavement reinforcement and also for shallow machine foundation. This application is successful principally due to interlocking between the geogrid and the soil. so far static load tests have invariably been used to describe the behaviour of the reinforced earth though the subgrades are usually subjected to dynamic loads in addition to static load. In this paper, the authors have presented the effectiveness of the geogrid with the laboratory plate load tests results on the sandy subgrade. Parameters influencing the dynamic load capacity (DLC) of the reinforced subgrade and its settlement have been studied.
