Crystal structure, electrochemical reversibility, and photocatalytic degradation of a coordination unsaturated copper(II) based coordination polymer

摘要
A coordination unsaturated copper (II) coordination polymer, [Cu(tptc)(0.5)(bpy)(H2O)](n) (1), was constructed from the mixed ligands of p-terphenyl-2,2 '',5 '',5'''-tetracarboxylate acid (H(4)tptc) and 1,3-bis(imidazol-1 yl-methyl)benzene (bimb) under hydrothermal condition. Structural analysis revealed that CP 1 is a 2D 4-connected {3(2).6(2).7(2)} kgm polymeric sheet, which can be further expanded into 3D supramolecular through hydrogen bonds. The coordination unsaturated central Cu(II) ions endow the CP 1 open metal sites, displaying good electrochemical reversibility as well as high efficiency in photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV irradiation.
