Direct numerical simulation of heat transfer in turbulent flows laden with microparticles

摘要
Heat transfer modulation due to the injection of small particles in a turbulent water flow between a hot an a cold plate is investigated. An Eulerian-Lagrangian point-particle approach is used to simulate turbulent channel flow at shear Reynolds number Re-tau = 150 and Prandtl number Pr = 3 (liquid-solid flow). The fluid and particles balance equations are solved considering full (momentum and energy) coupling between the two phases. We consider different size particles and different particle concentrations to investigate on the ability of particles to promote or damp turbulent heat transport.
