摘要
Offshore steel pipelines play a key role in the O&G industry. Pipelines are cracked due to corrosion and the fracture follows especially in the presence of tension and bending. The modified Mohr-Coulomb (MMC) criterion is used to describe the fracture behavior of pipes. A 3D elastic-plastic FE model in ABAQUS with the fracture criterion to simulate the mechanical behavior of defected X80 steel pipeline under combined tension and bending is performed. Parametric studies including the effects of crack depth and crack length are also conducted. The resistance curve of the pipe under different ratios of strain and curvature is obtained.
