Thermodynamic properties of sodium phosphate and sodium zinc phosphate melts

EMF investigation of Na2O-P2O5, ZnO-P2O5 (0.60> XP2O5 >0.25) and Na2O-P2O5 ZnO (XP2O5=0.40) melts has been carried out over the temperature range 850-1200 K. A complete set of the thermodynamic properties, both partial and integral, has been calculated We pioneered the reference of these functions to the corresponding properties of the pure oxides. The results are discussed in terms of acid-base interaction of the initial oxides in melt. Energetics of Na2O-P2O5-ZnO melt formation is found to be dictated mostly by binary compounds in melt.
