COOPERATION OF SOUTH BOHEMIA AND CROSS-BORDER REGIONS WITH A FOCUS ON CIVIL PROTECTION

The contribution reflects the theme of cross-border cooperation which is focused to the civil protection and crisis management. The international cooperation is concerned border areas of South Bohemia from the point of state and regional administration and nongovernmental organization. The cross-border cooperation is perceived as supporting and additional instrument of national system of civil protection. The aim of the paper is to describe the basic directions implemented cross-border cooperation aimed at protecting the population and crisis management. Analysis method and based on case studies shows pros, cons and possibilities of cooperation on examples of state administration, local authorities and NGOs. Cross-border cooperation can be characterized on the basis of the facts presented as an effective security solution for rescue operations and to improve coordination of the deployment of forces and resources in emergency and crisis situations.
