摘要
The present work covers the study of the yttrium oxide based discrete fiber production procedure, examination of the fiber structure, thermal stability, and simulation of their interaction with chromium matrix under 1500-2000 K temperature conditions. The quick-solidifying yttrium oxide fiber effective diameter variations are within the range between 40 and 200 mu m with fiber length from five to 10 mm depending on the PDME procedure conditions. It was found that active interaction between the reinforcing fibers and matrix alloy starts with temperatures greater than 1,700 K. While under lower temperature conditions, the original and annealed fiber phase constitution does not change. The capability of the extraction procedure to produce new type reinforcing descrete fibers to be employed in CM development was also demonstrated.
