摘要
In this study, after giving short information about historical bridges, finite element model of Palu Bridge, which is located near the Palu county of Elazig province, is generated with SAP2000. Deformations and stresses of the bridge are determined under dead loads and linear elastic earthquake response of this bridge is investigated. In this study, failures result from the materials used in repairing, structural system of the bridge and the effect of water to structural elements are examined. Earthquake acceleration is used as load for the mathematical model of the bridge constructed for dynamic analysis and calculations are made. Finite element method, which is accepted as one of the most precise methods currently, is used in calculations. Finally, analysis of planned reinforced bridge is made. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
