摘要：
The article summarizes the findings in the fields of biology, ecology, monitoring and control of the beet moth (Scrobipalpa ocellatella) The damage of this pest causes in sugar beet stands has been increasing for the last I'm years. Due to the extremely hot and dry weather in 2018, pest calamities occurred in many places of the Czech Republic; the caterpillars destroyed the youngest leaves of the beet tops which led to a decrease in the final root yield and sugar content. Efficiency comparison of two pheromone traps Csalomon and International Pheromone System found no differences in the attractiveness for the pest. The non-target species found in the traps in greater numbers were the Metzneria spp. and Plutella xylostela. The article also discusses the possibilities of chemical pest control and the influence of agronomy practices.
