摘要
Small magnetic anisotropy Delta chi above 4 x 10(-8) emu/g are obtained for various solid crystals by measuring the rotational oscillations of the samples at field between 0.108T (1080G) and 0.185T (1850G) produced by a horseshoe magnet. Oscillations are observed for biotite, calcite, enstatite, forsterite, graphite, muscovite, tale and Urea. Delta chi exceed 10-8 emu/g for many of the unmeasured materials according to a model proposed on the origin of anisotropy. Efficiency of magnetic alignment can be examined effectively over an immense number of nonmagnetic materials in various facilities, since Delta chi is easily detected by a simple setup which does not require an electromagnet.
