Motivating students by building self-efficacy

摘要
Development of maximum self-motivation within engineering students by building self-efficacy is discussed. Self-efficacy influences people's course of action, efforts put in their endeavors, their perseverance in obstacles, resilience in adversity, thought patterns, tolerance, environmental demands and the level of accomplishments. It is pointed out that efficiency could be enhanced from mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion and physiological/emotive arousals. It is suggested that instructors can improve the self-motivation among students by creating specific, challenging course goals and by explaining the value of each goals.
