The significance of project investment and investment control is discussed in the paper. Firstly, how to control investment in decision phrase is analyzed, and control measures are put forward. Secondly, investment controls in design period are analyzed and researched, including active application of value engineering principle, bidding reasonably, quota design strictly, strengthening management of design alteration, reviewing of design budget and estimate rigorously and other aspects, meanwhile improvement measures are proposed. Lastly, investment control in construction period is discussed, including investment control of supervision, owner reviewing and monitoring of budget modification and investment control of project manager department.
