摘要
The controversy that arose between late February and March of 2021 concerning the Dutch and Catalan translation of Amanda Gorman's poem The Hill We Climb (Gorman 2021a) is an interesting example to study the relationship between identity and translation. Conducted as field research based on primary sources, this article focuses on presenting a review of the events and opinions of those that have participated in the discussion by means of media and social networks. The aim is to bring the question of the relationship between identity and literary translation to the fore amid the noise generated in this controversy, as well as to highlight the different stances held with regard to this relationship.
