摘要
Effect of physical and chemical mutagenes was studied on important fibre characters using genotypic correlations as parameter. Gamma rays at 20 kR proved effective in reducing intensity of negative association for fibre micronaire value. ie (fineness)(-1) mean fibre length. 15 kR and 30 kR doses generated population showing significant positive association between fibre strength and fineness. The results also revealed utility of 20 kR followed by 15 kR and 0.2% EMS in getting the population with simultaneous improvement in mean fibre length and fibre strength.
