摘要
The relevance of computational fracture mechanics rationalizing design rules for stacked concrete/masonry structures is demonstrated. Interface softening models for tension and shear are used to simulate the initiation, propagation and snap-through of cracks and slip planes in these unreinforced structures. Two examples are included, for the serviceability limit state (cracking under restrained shrinkage) and the ultimate limit state (stability of the buildings under wind load).
