摘要
To assess the involution period and reinitiating of the ovarian cyclicity in postpartum female buffaloes, 30 cows buffaloes of similar breed predominance, were randomly selected from a flock of 240 adult animals found in a commercial farm situated in Colorado, Mara county, Zulia state. A transrectal palpation exam was carried out between the 16th and 66th days postpartum to determine the involution uterine degree and the ovarian structures. The following results were obtained: the cervix measured from 4.78 cm +/- 1.18 cm (min: 3, max: 7) to 3.51 cm +/- 0.57 (min: 2, max: 4), with a correlation of r-0.37813 with postpartum days (P < 0.05) and r-0.36995 with the presence of ovarians follicles (P < 0.05); the uterine involution was reached by 70% +/- 8.36 of the animals before the 21.33 day postpartum (min:le, max: 25) and 30% +/- 8.36, on the 28.88 day postpartum (min: 26, max: 44). Postpartum days (P < 0.01), follicles (P < 0.01) and body condition at delivery (P < 0.05), had effect over the uterine involution. The reinitiating of the postpartum ovarian cyclicity was on the 44.54th postpartum day (min: 22, max: 63). The uterine involution is reached quite rapidly in this species, which is favorable from the reproduction view; an early reinitiating of postpartum ovarian cyclicity is likewise observed.
