Republican education and politicization: children's drawings during the Spanish Civil War

One of the first places where childhood and politics come into contact is the school. Boys and girls learn in that place discourses, practices, traditions, rules and institutions. That also happened during the Spanish Civil War. If this moment was characterised by the political elation among the adults, the aim of this article will be to show how that arrived to the childhood at the republican rear-guard. Those children reflected it by one of their main tools of expression: the drawings. Thanks to them as a source, we will be able to analyse the political messages issued inside the school.
