Magnetostatic modes of lateral magnetic superlattices in an applied field of arbitrary direction

摘要
We discuss the properties of magnetostatic surface modes of a lateral superlattice in an applied static field (H-0) of arbitrary direction. In contrast to earlier works, we find that depending on the direction of the field, the surface modes also can exist for the magnetic fraction f(1) <0.5, and the critical value of f(1) as a function of the field is obtained. The surface mode can only propagate in an angle wedge whose width and position are determined by Ho and the critical value of the propagation angle. The computed dispersion curves show that the mode's frequency changes dramatically when the direction of H-0 is adjusted.
