Development of new technological applications require a co-operative role between engineering companies, manufacturers and mining companies. Successful partnerships can lead to very positive results in clean coal technology. This paper discusses the motives that drive the partnership and the benefits that accrue, and discusses the merits and pitfalls along the way.
