Investigation of structural, magnetic and electric property of chemically prepared nanoparticles of La0.9Tb0.1FeO3 [LTFO] are carried out. X-ray diffraction pattern and Raman spectra confirm the formation of the desired phase. Magnetic hysteresis loops observed in the range 300-5 K show dominance of the antiferromagnetic phase of the host down to similar to 120 K. However, below this LTFO shows ferromagnetic ordering introduced by the dopants of Tb3+. Isochronal and isothermal dielectric observations show enhanced dielectric response in LTFO compared to its host LaFeO3 (LFO). The dielectric spectroscopy of the sample follows the Cole-Cole relaxation. The ferroelectric phase in LTFO has improved compared to LFO due to the lattice distortion caused by Tb3+ ion. Observed magnetoelectric property confirms the coupling between the magnetic and electric property of LTFO. This enhanced magnetic property together with the electrical properties will improve its quality of application in electronic devices.
