摘要
Voltage sag is the most severe disturbance among all the power quality problems that a consumer has to face while running the electric arc furnace (EAF) in the distribution system. To compensate such a disturbance, the custom power device implemented. DVR (dynamic voltage restorer) which is custom power device and can be used in power system when sag appears. It provides the predetermined voltage as needed by the arc furnace during such a abnormal condition. Since the DVR consists of energy storage device, hence it is required to minimize the energy injection. DVR is series connected device which regulates arc furnace voltage. It also provides the other features like harmonic mitigation, transient reduction and fault current limitations. It is normally installed in between the supply and the critical load feeder connected with point of common coupling (PCC). In this paper, the DVR has been installed in between the arc furnace and the distribution bus and the compensation of the voltage in the arc furnace is examined when the fault at the distribution bus takes place.
