Why is it so hard to predict software system trustworthiness from software component trustworthiness?

摘要
Much of the work from the past ten years into Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) and Component Based Development (CBD) has dealt with Functional Composability (FC). Despite the efforts done on this subject, FC is still not mature enough for other serious concerns that arise in CBSE and CBD. The problem stems from the inability to know a priori. There are a number of reasons for this, among them are the factors of component performance and calendar time.
