摘要：

For proper preparation of assistance actions for SME sector it is necessary to identify thoroughly its development needs. On the other hand, proper structuring the types of assistance in Poland requires knowing a thematic structure of assistance for SMEs, funded by the European Structural Funds in the European Union countries. The results of studies on the typical structure of assistance obtained by SME from programs funded by structural funds were presented below. The important elements of the assistance comprise actions aimed at improving planning, marketing and sale procedures, as well as product development. A considerable portion of businesses acquired assistance for staff training. It seems that so far the latter type of assistance has been very rare in Poland.
