摘要
ISOCAM observations of nearby star formation regions have proven efficient in identifying new YSOs (young stellar objects). This success is based on the fact that low-mass stars, and even stars below the brown dwarf mass limit, are surrounded by dust during their early contraction phases. The dust emission, generally hard to detect in the near-IR, is well covered by the two broad-band filters LW2 (5-8.5 mum) and LW3 (12-18 mum). Another favorable circumstance is the small color effect caused by the interstellar extinction on the corresponding flux ratio.
