摘要：
We presented the case of 65-year male patient, smoker for 40 years, with history of spontaneous pneumothorax 3 years ago who was admitted to our hospital with dyspnea, cough, with abundant expectoration, fever, cyanosis and severe respiratory failure. The imagenologic study and the lung function test were compatible with langerhans cell histiocytosis of the lung; this entity was confirmed with histopathologic study through transbronchial biopsy. Antibiotics and steroids (metilprednisolone) were used succesfully, but the total remission of symptomatology was obtained with the cessation of smoking and prednisone during 6 weeks.
